4 questions I get asked most before child and teen headshots sessions in Essex

I absolutely love shooting child and teen headshots at the studio in Essex, and throughout the years have developed some great relationships with teen actors, dancers, and agencies alike. Whether your child or teen is having their first-ever headshots taken or they’re topping up their portfolio, I’m here to help them have the best shoot possible. This always includes giving advice or help whenever need be and I quite often get asked the same 4 questions. So here is a helpful guide to the top 4 questions I get asked most before child and teen headshot sessions in Essex. 

1 - Will you be able to give my child some guidance with posing etc as this is their first photo shoot?

Of course! You never need to worry about posing or facial expressions as this is something I can talk your child through. I will create a relaxed and friendly atmosphere in the photography studio in Essex, so your child can relax and let their personality shine through. I can talk them through different poses and expressions to show off their range and uniqueness so that you get a great variety of shots to choose from and use. It’s all about making the shoot seem as easy as possible and capturing your child’s wonderful true colours.

2 - What kind of outfits do we need to bring?

I would always suggest bringing a few outfits to give some variety and choices including a mix of casual, smart tops, and knitwear. Bring a mixture of black/very dark, white/ cream and coloured tops so that we can capture different moods and styles for your child’s portfolio. Always make sure to avoid clothing with logos, pictures, or writing as these can distract from your child’s beautiful face and great personality which is what we want to show off. For girls, I would recommend bringing a brush and hair band as agencies quite often like to see a photo with their hair up.

What agencies want to see from your child’s portfolio is a variety of looks that will suit different roles and situations. So we will make sure that during your child or teen headshot session in Essex that we capture a variety of images that show off your child at their best.

3 - Do you have different background options?

Yes! I have a range of neutral tones that will work well for child and teen portfolio updates and headshots. If there is a specific agency you are getting updates for, then I would encourage you to ask them if they have a preference for background options. I have white, black, 4 different shades of grey, peachy beige, and a light, textured, blue background. If you’re unsure of which to choose, not to worry, we can have a quick chat before the shoot day and I can give you some advice on what would be best.

4 - How many photos do we get to pick from?

This can vary from shoot to shoot. However, on average, I will give you 20-40 edited images to choose from including a variety of types of shot so you can choose your favourites. My child and teen headshots package includes 3 edited images, but if you would like to purchase more, this is something we can talk about and arrange for you. Sometimes, it is just too hard to choose when your child looks so amazing!
