DIY field wedding | Natural and relaxed garden party wedding, Chelmsford

Recently I photographed Thea and Chris’s DIY field Wedding in Chelmsford, Essex and what a day it was! It was right up my street.. Which was exactly what I said to Thea when she first contacted me and explained the natural and relaxed garden party wedding vibe she was going for. It was all about just brining her closest people together to witness herself and Chris tie the knot. There were tears, laughter, excitement, all the emotions!

If you’re wanting an outdoorsy, natural wedding with a very relaxed feel to it, then a DIY field wedding is such a great idea and there are so many fields for hire in the Essex countryside that cater for weddings and events. You can then make it your own and add teepees, fairy lights, hay bales, get food trucks, whatever you like!

Thea and Chris didn’t want traditional group photos or formal couple portraits, but simply for me to capture the day naturally as it unfolded, focusing on all those natural, candid moments in a documentary style.

I love capturing the emotions and energy of a wedding day & I’d like to think that I achieved that for Thea and Chris.
