Family beach photo shoots Essex | Chasing the sun

Recently I photographed this beautiful family for their family photo shoot updates on Shoebury beach in Essex.

We were all brave enough to get to the beach for 5am and wow was it worth it! The sunrise was just incredible!!

Let's be honest Essex beaches don’t quite have what Cornish or Australian beaches have to offer, but trust me, it’s fine! Get there at 5am and it’s like you're somewhere magical, the low golden sun just rising and casting it’s light on the sea turns it into the most gorgeous blue and the peaceful atmosphere and stillness is beautiful. So perfect for a family beach photo shoot! Essex really does have some serious beauty to offer!

Why 5am is worth it - The low sun ensures a perfect even light which makes for lovely, flattering light in your photos. And then the quietness allows you to have the beach to yourself (minus the odd dog walker) with no one watching or anyone in the background of your shots. 5am family beach photo shoots are always worth it, trust me :) Even in Essex!

What I loved so much about this shoot is that I really was just capturing a fun, early adventure for this family that wanted to watch the sunrise and have their breakfast on the beach. The bond between these guys is so sweet and I’m so glad I got to capture this dreamy morning for them.
